Job summary

UCSF Health Birth Center Nurse Manager role requires leading a multidisciplinary team across OBED, Antepartum, Labor, OR and Postpartum to ensure high-quality, safe patient care. You will supervise RNs, clinical staff, technicians, and PCAs, driving performance improvement and staff education in a teaching hospital setting.

You will collaborate with the Director and fellow Nurse Managers, promote evidence-based practice, and align with the Birth Center's mission within UCSF Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of RN experience in high risk Labor and Deliver.
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated hospital management skills with progressive leadership.
• Strong interpersonal skills to enable collaborative decision making.
• Knowledge of healthcare information technology and patient care workflows.
• Familiarity with regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.

Responsibilities

• Staff selection and human resource management.
• Develop performance improvement goals and address educational needs.
• Promote teamwork and evidence‑based nursing practices.
• Monitor patient care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.
• Ensure instrumentation and equipment readiness for the unit and OR.
