Job description

The Cambridge Center for Adult Education, located in Harvard Square, is currently seeking part-time instructors to teach a birding class for adult learners, beginning in our fall 2026 term.

This listing is specifically for a birding instructor. However, we are very open to other science and nature class proposals. If you are interested in teaching a specific class that is not listed below, please include a brief course description in your letter of interest.

Course Topics We’re Looking For
  • Bird Watching
  • Nature Exploration/Foraging
  • Zoology/Wildlife
  • Oceanic & Coral Reef
  • Native Plant Identification

The hourly rate begins at $25+ per hour, commensurate with experience. Instructors can also take one free class per term (up to $300).

Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience and success in the science & nature sector.
  • Experience as an educator or instructor.
  • Ability to engage a diverse demographic of adult learners.
  • A relevant degree, training, or experience in a science or nature related educational field is preferred.
