Job summary

Takeda's Biotherapeutics Process Development team is seeking a paid internship co-op in Lexington, MA to support upstream cell culture operations, run bench-top bioreactors and document results.

You will work onsite 4+ days per week, pursue a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemistry, biotechnology, or related field, and gain hands-on experience in bioprocess development while compiling clear data and technical summaries.

Qualifications

• This position requires full onsite presence (4+ days per week) at the Lexington, MA location.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to learn new techniques and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor experiments using cell culture and upstream unit operations (bench-top bioreactors, Ambr, shake flasks, WAVE bioreactors)
• Operate and monitor bioprocess equipment using DeltaV or similar process control systems
• Prepare cell culture media, feed, and buffers
• Document experimental work in electronic laboratory notebooks with clear, accurate, and timely records
• Perform basic data analysis to evaluate trends and support study conclusions
• Prepare technical summaries and study updates to communicate findings
• Adhere to laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
