Job summary

BioMADE in Maple Grove, MN, seeks a Shift Supervisor to lead a team of operators at the Maple Grove pilot plant. You’ll build foundational systems, procedures, and training for safe, effective operations as construction completes.

You will work with operations management, process engineers, and technicians to execute fermentation and downstream processes, maintain safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in a CDMO environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in a biotechnology-based organization (pilot, commercial, or CDMO)
• Shift supervisor or operations management experience with at least two personnel
• Upstream or downstream process knowledge tied to operations or tech transfer
• Education: BS in Chemical/Biochemical/Biotech or Mechanical Engineering preferred; will consider 6 years biotech experience in lieu of degree
• Strong working knowledge of upstream and downstream systems used in biotech

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of operators and ensure safety policies and permits are followed
• Champion Zero Harm safety culture and engage in all safety programs
• Develop and implement training, batch records, and procedures for safe operations
• Oversee maintenance programs and use maintenance software for work requests
• Coordinate with operations management, process engineers, and other teams to support commissioning, start-up, and production
