Job summary

PharmaEssentia Innovation Research Center (PIRC) seeks a Procurement Specialist (Biotechnology) for an initial 1-year contract with potential to convert to permanent. You will manage end-to-end procurement for lab supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance and cost effectiveness while coordinating with R&D and operations.

The role requires ARIBA/SAP S4/HANA experience, strong negotiation skills, and a track record in regulated biotech environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, life sciences, or related field.
• 2–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in biotech or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with lab supplies and scientific equipment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with ARIBA and SAP S4/HANA; Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of supplier qualification and quality documentation.
• Experience in early-stage or fast-growing biotech environments.
• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for laboratory supplies, equipment, and services.
• Source and evaluate vendors for scientific, technical, and operational needs.
• Obtain quotes, compare values, and ensure best cost, quality, and delivery.
• Track orders, deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
• Vendor and contract management; maintain supplier records and documentation.
• Lead supplier qualification and onboarding per quality and regulatory standards.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage renewal timelines.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, and financial controls.
• Develop BPM and SAP Ariba manuals and conduct training.
• Identify process improvements to optimize workflows and system functionality.
