Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Chemical/Biochemical Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will transfer purification drug substance processes, model bioprocess scalability, and support tech transfers between sites to enable scale-up and reliable manufacturing.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering and real-world experience in process transfer, PPQ, chromatography, TFF, and Final Fill.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemical, Biochemical, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Two years of experience in technology transfer into commercial facilities.
• Experience with JMP, Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis and visualization.
• Experience with PPQ and process validation, chromatography, TFF and Final Fill operations.
• Develop technical protocols for GMP setting; conduct root cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Transfer purification drug substance processes to manufacturing facilities.
• Facilitate fit assessments for bioprocess scalability and equipment selection.
• Support information transfer between partner sites via Make-a-Batch discussions.
• Perform commercial tech transfers of late-stage Amgen products between facilities.
• Provide process validation support for late-stage processes.
• Provide on-the-floor support for scale-up and transfer of process technology.
