Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Engineer I to support manufacturing processes at the Thousand Oaks Pilot Plant. You will provide operational support, troubleshoot equipment, and help optimize performance of stainless and single-use systems.

The role requires strong problem-solving, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to safety. You will participate in process improvements, data analysis, and equipment validation as part of a fast-paced biotech environment.

Qualifications

• Masters degree with 2 years of Engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of Engineering experience
• Associates degree with 6 years of Engineering experience
• High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Engineering experience
• Bachelor's in Chemical/Mechanical/Bioengineering preferred
• Experience with regulated environments (FDA, cGMP, OSHA, EPA) preferred
• Independence, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong teamwork and collaboration; safety-focused mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for manufacturing processes in Thousand Oaks Pilot Plant.
• Troubleshoot and optimize equipment performance and reliability.
• Lead improvement efforts to reduce cycle time and increase yield.
• Support technical investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Analyze data and develop engineering solutions using data techniques.
• Assist with engineering runs for new products and technologies.
• Provide onsite technical support and ensure safety compliance.
