Biotech Manufacturing Technology Lead

Job summary

IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences based in Clackamas, OR. This role leads the Manufacturing Technology function at a large-scale biotechnology site and steers a multidisciplinary engineering team toward strategic goals and execution.

You will collaborate with operations, automation, and research & development to implement new products and process changes, ensuring high quality and cost efficiency while maintaining strict cGMP and safety

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience in industrial/biochemical processing.
• Strong technical knowledge of fermentation, downstream processing, and formulation.
• Proven ability to lead multi-location teams and manage cross-functional workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Manufacturing Technology function for a large-scale biotech site.
• Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Translate manufacturing goals into actionable initiatives for the department.
• Prioritize projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders and global teams.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase capacity, quality, safety, and cost reductions.
• Collaborate with capital/automation teams to align resources and long-term site plans.
• Partner with R&D and operations to implement new products and process changes.
