Responsibilities

• Supports faculty, staff and the lab coordinator in timely, accurate preparation of labs for biotechnology classes.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment (autoclaves, centrifuges, incubators, PCR, spectrophotometers, HPLC, plate reader, washers, hoods).
• Prepares complex chemical and microbiological reagents per standards and protocols.
• Ensures safety and quality assurance practices are followed.
• Assists with disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste.
• Assists with yearly lab supplies and equipment inventory.
• Provides routine lab support including cleaning, restocking, and tracking supplies.
