Job summary

Stoke Therapeutics seeks a Lab Assistant to support daily lab operations in Bedford, MA, with future relocation to Waltham, MA. The role reports to the Senior Director, Facilities & Engineering and is based onsite.

You will help ensure proper functioning of utilities and lab equipment, perform safety inspections, manage waste, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain productive lab workflows.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a lab environment.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced setting and work in a team.
• Self-motivated, organized, and reliable with customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the overall lab environment, ensuring proper functioning of utilities, lab equipment and life safety systems.
• Perform facility and safety inspections including chemical, biological and universal waste consolidation.
• Handle daily lab waste disposal per safety regulations and guidelines, with proper documentation.
• Assist facilities administration including vendor coordination, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
• Maintain updated lab inventory and stock of reagents and materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support lab productivity.
• Manage shipping and receiving of laboratory materials with proper documentation.
• Conduct routine safety shower and eye wash inspections.
• Support small repairs as directed when needed.
• Ensure laboratory cleanliness and proper storage or disposal of materials.
