Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Field Engineer, Operations Maintenance to provide mechanical, electrical, and hands-on maintenance support for filling, packaging, anaerobe, and bioreactor operations. You will troubleshoot, perform PMs, and support engineering projects related to electro-mechanical equipment throughout production lines.

The role emphasizes equipment reliability, adherence to GMP, safety, and collaboration with maintenance teams to sustain production schedules and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical institute training preferred.
• Minimum five years mechanical maintenance and basic electrical experience in equipment common to biotech/pharma/food processing.
• Supervisory or crew leadership experience preferred.
• Familiarity with fermentation, bioreactor, autoclaves, pure steam, WFI and related equipment/systems.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds; able to work in confined spaces; GMP gowning.

Responsibilities

• Maintains production process equipment supporting production schedules and quality requirements.
• Troubleshoots and implements corrective action where equipment performance is suboptimal.
• Supports training of production and maintenance personnel in operating electro-mechanical equipment.
• Coordinates with Planner/Scheduler to ensure scheduling information and work orders are compliant.
• Utilizes CMMS per SOP to document work and maintain PM requirements and timelines.
