Job summary

GenScript USA Inc./ProBio Inc. is seeking a facilities project manager in New Jersey to coordinate outside services, engineering, and construction capital projects for GXP & non-GMP facilities.

This role will focus on working with external design firms, construction contractors, landlords, and government offices, as well as internal departments. Essential responsibilities include directing project teams, bidding and selecting vendors, maintaining schedules and budgets, processing change orders,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience managing facility & construction projects for pharmaceutical facilities.
• PMP or similar project management certification preferred.
• Familiarity with estimating and bidding.
• Negotiation with landlords, government offices, and contractors.
• Understanding of plasmid DNA and viral vectors manufacturing processes.
• Strong writing and communication skills; AutoCAD & Microsoft Project desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple facility outside services, engineering and construction projects ranging from $0.05MM to $30MM.
• Direct day-to-day activities of the project team to meet deliverables.
• Log and track action items through project lifecycle.
• Bid, award, and select engineering firms, construction firms, equipment vendors, CQV consultants, and service contractors.
• Ensure user requirement specifications are met through high quality deliverables.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule and staffing plan.
• Manage project capital budget and ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
• Review and process change orders per contract requirements.
• Provide project updates and budget presentations to upper management.
• Build partnering relationships with executives, landlords, contractors, and consultants.
• Host Gemba Walks and track observations for site improvement.
• Manage site-wide controlled drawings program and compliance activities.
• Establish and maintain site security program and badge control.
