Job summary

ProBio in New Jersey is seeking a senior Project Manager to coordinate and oversee facility outside services, engineering, and construction projects in a GMP environment. You will work with design firms, builders, landlords, and internal teams to deliver complex capital projects on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates will have a construction/engineering degree and strong PM discipline, including budgeting, scheduling, and formal change control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering field.
• Experience managing facility and construction projects in the pharmaceutical industry.
• PM experience; PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Familiarity with estimating and bidding.
• Experience negotiating with landlords, government offices, and contractors.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for plasmid DNA and viral vectors in cell & gene therapy.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD & Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee facility outside services, engineering and construction projects ranging from $0.05MM to $30MM.
• Log and track action items through project lifecycle.
• Bid, award, and select engineering firms, construction firms, equipment vendors, CQV consultants, and service contractors.
• Ensure user requirement specifications are met through high quality deliverables.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule and staffing requirements.
• Manage project capital budget; ensure on-time and under-budget completion; issue POs and contracts within budget.
• Review and process change orders per contract requirements.
• Prepare project updates and budget release presentations for upper management; build partnerships with executives, landlords, contractors, and consultants.
• Host Gemba Walks and track corrections for site improvements.
• Execute and manage site-wide controlled drawings; verify, redline, and control drawings for qualification activities.
• Establish and maintain site security program; issue new badges and control clearances.
