Job summary

Vaxcyte in the SF Bay Area is seeking a Manager, Facilities Engineering to oversee office and lab maintenance and improvements. You will lead a team of facility engineers and technicians, design layouts, and optimize critical systems while managing budgets and vendor relationships.

The role requires strong project management, knowledge of building codes, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast‑paced biotechnology environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years as facilities engineer, biotech metrology or similar.
• 2–3 years in leadership.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and CMMS systems.
• Knowledge of building processes, regulations and codes.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility engineers and technicians; manage day‑to‑day tasks.
• Oversee corrective maintenance and PM schedules for all assets.
• Define equipment specs and facility layouts; improve operational efficiency.
• Manage external/internal vendors and new lab equipment installs.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance with proper documentation.
• Coordinate maintenance and respond to emergencies.
