Job summary

Vaxcyte is seeking a Manager, Facilities Engineering to lead maintenance and improvement of office and lab spaces in San Carlos, CA. You will oversee facility engineers and technicians, plan layouts, and ensure operational efficiency while managing budgets and schedules.

This on-site, full-time role reports to the Director, Facilities. A background in mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering and 5–7 years in facilities, with leadership, AutoCAD, SAP, and CMMS experience, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
• 5–7 years of facilities engineering experience with 2–3 years in leadership.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and CMMS systems.
• Knowledge of building processes, codes, and safety requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication; project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility engineers and technicians in daily tasks and development.
• Oversee corrective maintenance for all facility assets.
• Maintain PM schedule for facility assets.
• Define equipment specifications and requirements for facility and lab spaces.
• Analyze project costs and assist in budget drafting.
• Develop specifications and implementation plans for facility and lab systems and controls.
• Evaluate operational systems to improve efficiencies.
• Plan maintenance schedules for facility and lab infrastructure.
