Flagship Pioneering-backed Expedition Medicines is seeking a Senior/Principal Data Infrastructure Engineer to design and own scalable proteomics data systems. You will write production code, build an automated data platform, and shape the technical direction for data tooling used by ML scientists, chemists, and biology teams.

The role is senior and individual-contributor, requiring 8+ years in data infrastructure with biotech experience, strong Python/SQL skills, and expertise in cloud and data

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in CS, data engineering, computational biology or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 8+ years building and operating terabyte-scale data systems in biotech or life sciences.
• Ability to set technical direction and deliver complex projects with minimal oversight.
• Experience with cloud (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code tools.

Aufgaben

• Architect and build core data platform integrating proteomics data with computational tools.
• Define the technical roadmap for data infrastructure and drive high-leverage initiatives.
• Automate workflows across proteomics environments and integrate LIMS for data capture.
• Develop data pipelines with Flyte, Dagster, or Airflow; design medallion-style architectures.
• Design cloud infrastructure and CI/CD to enable continuous improvement.
• Ensure data integrity, lineage, and traceability across pipelines and storage.
• Collaborate with proteomics, chemistry, biology and ML teams as the go-to data systems expert.
• Set engineering standards, perform code/design reviews, and mentor others.
