Job summary

Nautilus Biotechnology is seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to turn platform data into proteomic insights. You will design experiments, define success metrics, and translate results into actionable decisions for assays and potential new developments.

The role reports to a Bioinformatics Fellow and is based in San Carlos, CA, with a requirement of at least three days in the office. Strong communication and wet-lab data experience are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Biophysics, Chemistry, or related field.
• 4+ years of industry experience.
• Strong communication and ability to explain findings to non-computational audiences.
• Hands-on experience with wet-lab data and assay development or optimization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with scientists to design experiments and define success criteria.
• Analyze Iterative Mapping data end to end from metadata to conclusions.
• Improve assay reproducibility and quantitative accuracy.
• Guide experimental design with controls, replicates, and sample sizes.
• Diagnose unexpected results by testing hypotheses across reagents and algorithms.
• Develop and maintain QC metrics and reports for runs.
