Job summary

The University of New Hampshire seeks applications for a part-time/full-time adjunct instructor to teach MCBS 801: Intro Careers in Biotechnology, MCBS 895: Special Topic and MCBS: Doctoral Research during the Fall semester. The appointment also encompasses leadership of the NIH-funded Center of Integrated Biomedical and Bioengineering Research grant and programmatic support for the M.S.

in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a biomedical, biological, or closely related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in biomedical research with peer-reviewed publications.
• Prior experience as PI or co-investigator on federally funded research grants.
• Demonstrated experience in grant administration, including compliance, reporting, and budget management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead administrative programs and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Teach MCBS 801, MCBS 895, and MCBS 999 courses during the Fall semester.
• Develop and deliver course lectures and instructional materials consistent with the approved course description and learning objectives for graduate students.
• Design and administer assessments appropriate for a graduate course, including differentiated expectations as applicable.
• Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to enrolled students.
• Submit grades in accordance with the University’s deadlines and policies.
• Coordinate, as needed, with MCBS faculty to ensure curricular alignment.
• CIBBR Grant Administration and Principal Investigator Duties.
• Provide limited programmatic and administrative support for the M.S. program and/or other duties as assigned by the MCBS Department Chair.
• Contribute to the scholarly output of the research program through publications, presentations, and other dissemination activities.
