Job summary

Braveheart Bio is seeking an Accounting Manager to own day-to-day accounting operations and support the month-end close in our fast-moving clinical-stage biotechnology company.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Controller, this hands-on role will manage journal entries, reconciliations, clinical trial accruals, internal controls, system implementations, and collaboration with finance, clinical operations, external vendors, and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in biotech or life sciences preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Deep technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP), including R&D accruals and clinical trial accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of public company requirements, internal controls (SOX), and cross-functional alignment.
• Experience supporting Big 4 or national firm audits.
• Excellent judgment, high integrity, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain comfortable with change and ambiguity.
• Flexible, proactive, and hands-on mindset with a roll-up-your-sleeves, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly accounting close process and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations; supervise staff.
• Own clinical trial accrual preparation and liaise with clinical vendors.
• Maintain internal controls and document policies and procedures.
• Support audits, reviews, and system implementations.
• Promote collaboration and cross-functional problem-solving within the team.
