Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Data Management Specialist in the Department of Biostatistics, School of Public Health MBU. The role focuses on building data collection solutions using REDCap and Veeva EDC, and facilitating secure data access and reporting.

You will perform audits to ensure data quality across multiple study sites, communicate with DCC and client teams, and transfer data securely while documenting solutions for the wider team.

Qualifications

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to document processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, esp. spreadsheets.
• Strong verbal/written communication and ability to detect nuances.
• Familiarity with medical terminology or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Electronic Case Report Form Builder: use REDCap and Veeva EDC to build investigator solutions.
• Data Access and Reporting: provide data access through systems and ad hoc reports.
• Perform Audits: generate queries to locate missing or inconsistent data and drive resolution.
• Communication and Rapport Building: coordinate with DCC and study teams across remote sites.
• Data Transfer: facilitate secure file transfers and data sharing via FileLocker/Drive.
• Knowledge Management: document solutions for dissemination within the team.
• Innovation and Initiative: self-starter who identifies and implements improvements.
