Job summary

UCSF Health, AG is seeking an Associate Specialist to provide technical and statistical support for a project on hybrid randomized clinical trials with longitudinal outcomes. The role involves collaboration with UCSF and Genentech investigators to develop methods, address missing data, and analyze real-world data.

The position requires a Master’s in Biostatistics or related field (PhD preferred) and strong R programming and Git/GitHub experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or five to ten years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in R with experience in developing, documenting, and testing R packages.
• Experience with Real-World Data sources (EHR, registries, clinical databases).
• Solid understanding of longitudinal data and related statistical techniques.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Experience using Git/GitHub for collaborative software development and version control.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and statistical support for the project.
• Collaborate with UCSF and Genentech investigators to develop statistical methods for hybrid RCTs with longitudinal outcomes.
• Address missing data and bias from external controls; conduct simulation studies and real-world data analyses.
• Develop reproducible statistical code and evaluate operating characteristics.
• Contribute to interpretation and dissemination through manuscripts, presentations, and FDA training materials.
