Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks a Biostatistician to apply statistical methods to biomedical and health research, helping interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions. You will work with researchers, clinicians, and public health experts to design studies, analyze data, and summarize results for decision makers.

This full-time, hybrid role requires 6–12 onsite days per month. Proficiency in R or SAS, experience with power analysis and regression techniques, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in R, SAS, STATA, or SPSS.
• Experience with clinical trial data analysis, public health research, or epidemiological studies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers to design and plan statistical analyses for studies, including determining methods and tools.
• Perform statistical analysis on biomedical data using software such as R, SAS, STATA, or SPSS.
• Interpret and communicate statistical results to non-statistical audiences.
• Develop and maintain statistical models, including predictive and risk models.
• Provide statistical support for the design of clinical trials, observational studies, and other research initiatives.
• Conduct power analysis, sample size calculations, and ensure proper handling of missing data.
• Write statistical analysis plans, reports, and publications.
• Assist with data validation and quality control to ensure data integrity.
• Stay current with advancements in statistical methods and software.
• Mentor junior staff or collaborators in statistical techniques.
