Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Research Biospecimen Coordinator in the Women’s Cancer Care Grant department to manage biospecimens for tissue, blood and other protocol-related materials, ensuring compliance with federal rules and good clinical practices.

The role collaborates with Investigators, Pathologists, Research Nurses and Data Specialists to assemble data, maintain inventory, and support enrollment targets while maintaining specimen integrity and safety.

Qualifications

• Require a minimum of two (2) years of research experience in a healthcare setting.
• Clinical Research Certification; or must obtain within one (1) year of becoming eligible.
• Training for Research Team Members must be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Shipping lab specimens training must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates biospecimen management for tissue, blood and other protocols.
• Ensures compliance with federal regulations and good clinical practices.
• Gathers and organizes data and source documentation for protocols.
• Manages research lab supply inventory and ensures specimen integrity.
• Collaborates with investigators, pathologists, nurses, and external labs.
