Job summary

University of Louisville seeks a Biorepository Specialist I to support the Brown Cancer Center (BCC) Biorepository. You will assist in collecting, processing, banking, and distributing biospecimens, and coordinate with the Cancer Trials Program leadership.

Responsibilities include data entry, follow-up with participants, and daily operation of specimens per good practice guidelines. The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, proficiency in MS Office, strong communication

Qualifications

• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience in specimen processing and/or clinical trials or biorepositories.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient enrollment by participating in BCC clinics and verifying eligibility.
• Collects and logs biospecimens and related data per protocols.
• Distributes biospecimens to appropriate locations per procedures and use protocols.
• Enters clinical data into Biorepository database accurately and timely.
• Coordinates with BCC Biorepository Manager and staff for scheduling and liaison with physicians.
• Monitors laboratory equipment and orders supplies for specimen processing.
