Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis seeks a detail-oriented Biorepository Technician to support the Biorepository and Biospecimen Resource (BBR). The role covers tissue and fluid processing, data entry, and quality control for cancer and biomedical studies, in a fast-paced lab environment.

The candidate should have an associate degree and strong organizational skills; no specific work experience is required. On-call duties may be involved, with full-time hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Blood and bone marrow processing to isolate serum, plasma, and white blood cells.
• Isolation of single cells, nuclei and nucleic acids from tissue, cells and bodily fluids.
• Prepare OCT and FFPE tissue blocks and section embedded specimens to support assays.
• Data entry into biospecimen inventory management system and tracking of processing/storage/distribution.
• Monitor equipment and laboratory supplies; participate in On-Call program for storage systems.
