Job summary

AstraZeneca's Oncology R&D division seeks a Biospecimen Supervisor to coordinate Human Biological Samples across multiple clinical programs. You will collaborate with Translational Sciences and external CROs to ensure sample integrity, traceability, and timely data generation.

Responsibilities include shipments, intake, inventory management, and overseeing external contractor analyses, with a focus on quality systems and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• BS with at least 5 years of relevant experience in biospecimen logistics.
• MS with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent record keeping skills.
• Experience managing logistics and storage of bio-specimens from clinical studies.
• Familiarity with analytical methods and specimen requirements for biomarkers or PK analysis.
• Management experience and oversight of partnered staff at external vendors.
• Collaborate across dynamic teams and interfaces in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics and tracking of HBS shipments from trial sites to testing laboratories or CROs.
• Ensure sample integrity and traceability during transport; resolve CRO queries.
• Receive, accession, and record samples for laboratory analysis.
• Manage internal inventory storage and usage of clinical samples.
• Lead sample analysis tracking by external contractors to meet timelines.
• Maintain patient dashboards and reporting tools for traceability and completion.
• Help develop new sample tracking, record-keeping, and quality systems.
• Assist with procurement tasks for reagents used in assays.
