Responsibilities

• Leads team of operators in people management: hiring, onboarding, performance management, salary changes, promotions, training and development, transfers and terminations; coaches staff as needed.
• Manage hay production/sales, dryer operations, fertilizer sales and trucking of biosolids between facilities.
• Collect sludge, hay, and fertilizer samples for analysts.
• Ensure SOPs, OSHA, DOT and other requirements are followed.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with maintenance group on repairs and maintenance.
• Oversee maintenance of trucks and equipment, including budgeting.
• Assess performance and implement continuous improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Biosolids Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities of water and wastewater plants.

Salary range $85,000-$100,000 depending on level of experience. Company truck provided.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads his/her team of operators in all aspects of people management including: hiring, orientation/on-boarding, performance management, salary changes, promotions, training and development, transfers and terminations. Monitors and reviews staff work and coaches appropriate improvement.
• Manage s hay production/sales, dryer operations, fertilizer sales and tractor trailer hauling of biosolids between facilities.
• Collect sludge, hay, and fertilizer samples for analysts.
• Ensures that all SOPs are followed and DOT, OSHA and other requirements are met.
• Conducts site visits and communicates with maintenance group about maintenance, repairs, etc.
• Manages maintenance of all trucks and equipment, including capital budgeting.
• Assesses operational performance and implements continuous improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education/Experience : High School diploma required. (college preferred)

Licenses/Certifications : Valid Driver's License. Class A CDL preferred.

Technical : Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet. Ability to work with basic office equipment & phone systems. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, DOT regulations & Utility SOPs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
