Sarmal, Inc. in San Diego leads in genomics and molecular detection platforms. We seek a Research Technician to support routine batch execution and core analytical measurements for a biosensor device platform.

This hands-on role operates under RA/scientist supervision, maintains careful documentation, and progresses toward greater independence over time. Open to early-career candidates with hands-on lab training; strong execution and reliability will broaden involvement in experimental support

Qualifications

• Hands-on lab experience with interfacial materials or related wet-chemistry techniques.
• Ability to follow detailed written procedures (SOPs, batch records) precisely.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability; able to follow defined test procedures in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with structured documentation (batch records, ELN, GDP-style record-keeping).

Responsabilités

• Execute surface functionalization batch runs (SAM, silane, hydrogel, brush polymer chemistries) per SOPs under supervision.
• Operate core surface characterization methods (fluorescence-based assays, contact angle) for batch checks with trained EIS/CV support.
• Record characterization results (thickness, density, uniformity, charge) for reviewer interpretation.
• Assist with surface deposition/patterning runs (spin-coating, dip-coating, spray-coating, plasma activation).
• Prepare samples and run defined test conditions for DOE plans as directed.
• Log data in lab notebooks/ELN; flag deviations to RA/scientist staff.
• Maintain inventory of chemistry consumables and reagents; keep space clean.
• Follow site lab protocols and collaborate with in-house RAs and scientists.
• Elevate issues and seek guidance rather than resolving independently.

B.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related field
