Job summary

Actalent is seeking an entry-level Research Technologist for our Rochester, MN site. The role focuses on accessioning and processing biological specimens in the Sample Intake Lab, ensuring accurate patient data in LIMS and timely distribution for time-sensitive studies.

The position is contract-to-hire with onsite work. Responsibilities include receiving, logging, processing, and tracking specimens, collaborating with study teams, and supporting routine lab tasks to uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or human biological sciences as stated in the requirements.
• Entry-level position, contract-to-hire in Rochester, MN.
• On-site laboratory role with focus on specimen accessioning and processing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and accession biological specimens into LIMS with accurate patient data.
• Manually process specimens for time-sensitive studies while maintaining quality.
• Prepare and distribute samples to BAP areas and affiliated labs.
• Track specimen movement and status across LIMS for auditable records.
• Collaborate with study teams to troubleshoot specimen handling requirements.
• Perform routine lab tasks such as manual pipetting and basic chemistry/biology procedures.
• Support quality improvement in specimen handling and processing.
