Job summary

New Mexico Solutions is seeking an Assessment Clinician to conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5-TR criteria. The role prioritizes trauma-informed, person-centered care aligned with state and CCBHC standards.

The clinician will assess risks, determine appropriate levels of care, and coordinate referrals while ensuring timely access to behavioral health services. Strong writing and clinical judgment are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in human services or health-related field (counseling, social work, psychology, etc.).
• Must possess NM licenses: LMSW, LCSW, LPCC, LPC, LMHC, LPAT, or LMFT, or meet NM licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.
• Complete diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5-TR criteria and clinical formulation.
• Assess suicide risk, homicide risk, substance use, trauma history, and social determinants of health.
• Determine level of care and provide clinical recommendations based on findings.
• Coordinate referrals to internal and external programs.
• Ensure urgent interventions connect to crisis services when indicated.
• Document assessments accurately within required timeframes.
• Communicate findings to the treatment team for continuity of care.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical supervision related to assessment.
