Job summary

POET in Sioux Falls, SD, is offering a Process Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027. You will assist the Process Engineering team with design, implementation and specifications of plant processes under the close guidance of engineers.

This on-site role requires engagement with block diagrams, PFDs, P&IDs and data analysis. The internship emphasizes safety, environmental compliance, and teamwork, with opportunities to contribute to commissioning activities and learn bioprocessing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Junior or senior engineering student, preferably Chemical Engineering.
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills; adaptable.
• Ability to understand the operation of a bioprocessing facility.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with process designs under supervision.
• Prepare block flow diagrams, PFDs, and P&IDs.
• Analyze process data and assist with commissioning activities.
• Support safe operation and environmental compliance.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers and other teams.
• Flexible use of skills for other tasks.
