Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an Associate Specialist, Engineering in the Biotechnology and Solutions (BTS) team to support vaccine and biologics process development and production.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and R&D to sustain, optimize and troubleshoot existing production processes. The role involves learning bioprocessing principles, performing lab experiments, and supporting manufacturing studies across multidisciplinary international teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in the vaccine or biologics manufacturing sector is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support small, medium and large-scale bioreactor runs.
• Support and execute lab experiments and assays.
• Organize and maintain BTS labs (5S) and inventory.
• Work in a safety-first mindset.
• Collaborate with peers to support manufacturing, development and research studies.
• Occasional after-hours or weekend work to execute experiments.
