Job summary

Yokogawa in the United States seeks a bioprocessing technical specialist to provide training, application expertise, and on-site support to customers and partners. You will help optimize biologics and fermentation workflows, contribute to product strategy, and represent the company at conferences and customer sites.

Travel up to 30% is expected. A strong background in mammalian cell culture or bioprocessing, plus hands-on lab experience and excellent communication, will help drive collaboration

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD degree in Material Science, Life Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Hands-on expertise with Mammalian cell culture, microbial fermentation, or cell therapy manufacturing and upstream process development and bioreactor operations. Experience with process automation and control systems, including DCS and PLC platforms, is a plus
• Work experience in Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical or Bioprocessing environment a plus
• Experience of applied data analytics methods, in anyone of the following topics is a plus, Multivariate Data Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), or PAT
• Extensive experience in laboratories, Process Development and cGMP environments
• A customer-oriented mindset, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Support the sales organization on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations and application studies
• Self-motivation and the desire to work with customers
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in diverse teams and cross-functionally, prioritize and multitask
• Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work with customers
• Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Providing technical product training and support to customers and business partners
• Delivering application expertise and knowledge to customers and business partners
• Proactively supporting sales opportunities and visiting customers to offer product demonstrations and consultation in sales meetings
• Training and supporting our customers onsite, via email, phone, and interactive web-sessions
• Advising our customers to optimize their experiments for their applications and identify new and promising applications
• Creating application notes and other technical documentation
• Monitor trends in biologics, cell and gene therapy, fermentation, vaccine manufacturing, and continuous bioprocessing
• Serve as the bioprocessing technical authority for customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Support product strategy and roadmap development.
• Represent Yokogawa at industry conferences, workshops, and scientific forums.
• Providing product improvement suggestions based on customer experience and feedback
