Job summary

Helix BioStructures, LLC in Indianapolis, Indiana seeks a biophysics-focused scientist to lead biophysical characterization programs. You will run multi-technique workflows to assess purity, homogeneity, oligomeric state, stability, and binding properties of client proteins and ligands.

You will also express and purify recombinant proteins and deliver client-facing reports and presentations, with emphasis on method development and data quality.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent with hands-on biophysical technique experience.
• Experience on at least three techniques from the listed methods.
• Ability to determine binding affinities and kinetics with proper controls.
• Recombinant protein expression and purification experience.
• Experience with SDS-PAGE, SEC, MS, UV/Vis spectroscopy.
• Strong data analysis, curve fitting, and scientific judgment.
• Excellent written and oral communication for client-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Run biophysical characterization workstreams across multiple technique stacks.
• Design and execute experiments to define purity, homogeneity, and binding behavior.
• Develop and QC assays; provide data and client-ready reports.
• Express and purify recombinant proteins to feed biophysical studies.
• Present results in client calls and write technical project reports.
• Maintain instrument performance standards and controls.
