Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking an Automation Engineer to oversee manufacturing automation across the site, ensuring integration with production, QC, and data management. The role focuses on GMP/compliance, system validation, and continuous improvement while collaborating with multiple departments and providing training and on-call support.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years direct experience with automation systems in biopharma.
  • Knowledge of DCS (DeltaV), SCADA (Aveva), PLCs; preferred understanding of machine connectivity/data acquisition (OPC).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee manufacturing automation systems across the site; support implementation changes to automation systems, update design documents, execute testing, troubleshoot events, and provide SME support for automated process control systems.
  • Ensure integration of automation systems with digital applications supporting production, quality control, and data management.
  • Ensure GMP/regulatory compliance for C&Q activities, including specs, test protocols, and system validation; manage risks and ensure compliance to minimize timeline/cost disruption.
  • Develop and deliver training materials; provide post-implementation support.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Facilities, Tech Transfer, IT, and Engineering; capture/document requirements.
  • Develop standards/best practices; lead design reviews and user acceptance testing.
  • Oversee daily monitoring/troubleshooting/support of PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems to reduce downtime.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities; support investigations of process deviations and drive quality/yield improvements.
  • Participate in operational meetings and provide rotating off-shift on-call support.
