Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Biometrics Software Engineer to integrate biometric technologies such as fingerprint, facial recognition, and iris scanning into existing software systems. The role requires expertise in biometric algorithms, software development, and secure data handling.

TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required. You will design modules, develop APIs, and contribute to scalable, secure architectures.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of biometric modalities and their performance characteristics.
Experience integrating third‑party APIs and SDKs for biometric capture.
Understanding of security protocols and best practices for sensitive biometric data.
Familiarity with database technologies for storing and managing biometric data.
Expertise in Java, Spring, and C2S; experience with agile development and DevOps toolsets.
Master's degree with 15+ years of experience or Doctorate with 13+ years, or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

Design and implement software modules to integrate biometric modalities using provided SDKs and APIs.
Develop and maintain application programming interfaces for third‑party integration.
Contribute to system architecture ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Develop data processing pipelines for biometric data capture, storage, and transmission in compliance with privacy regulations.
Participate in software programming initiatives using Java and JavaScript.
Create detailed technical documentation for integration, API usage, and system configuration.
Identify and resolve issues related to biometric integration, software compatibility, and data quality.
