Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Biometrics Software Engineer ( SME ) to design and implement software modules that integrate biometric modalities (facial recognition, fingerprint, iris) with existing applications and systems.

You will develop APIs for third-party use and contribute to secure, scalable system architecture. The role requires deep knowledge of biometric technologies, API integration, Java/Spring development, and adherence to privacy regulations, with US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI

Qualifications

Master’s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, or Doctorate with 13+ years.
US Citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Strong knowledge of biometric modalities and API integration.
Experience with Java, Spring, and DevOps tooling.
Experience with data security and privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

Biometric Integration: design and implement modules to integrate biometric modalities with existing apps and systems.
API Development: develop and maintain APIs for third-party applications to interact with biometric system.
System Architecture: contribute to scalable, secure biometric integration architecture.
Data Handling: build pipelines for capture, storage and transmission of biometric data with privacy in mind.
Software Development: participate in Java/JavaScript of software initiatives for innovation.
Technical Documentation: create detailed docs for integration processes and configurations.
Troubleshooting: identify and resolve issues related to biometric integration and data quality.
