Job summary

Baton Rouge General is seeking a Biomedical Technician II to maintain and repair critical patient care equipment and support junior technicians across our healthcare network.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex devices, and ensure safety documentation, contributing to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of experience maintaining medical equipment.
• Associate degree in electronic technology, biomedical technology, or equivalent military training/experience.
• Proficient in medical electronic principles, schematics, and theories.
• Works effectively with limited supervision.
• Ability to mentor and support team members.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in maintaining and repairing critical patient care equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety throughout the healthcare system.
• As Biomedical Technician II, support the development of junior technicians and enhance department capabilities.
• Complete all assigned preventive maintenance (PM) following work orders and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain PM program documentation in accordance with department policies.
• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of medical equipment using test equipment and service manuals.
• Ensure all repaired equipment is safety-checked and documented.
• Calibrate and repair complex patient care devices.
• Provide guidance and technical assistance to Biomedical Technician I.

What You Will Do:
