Job summary

Baton Rouge General is seeking Medical Technologists or Medical Lab Technologists to join our clinical laboratory team. We value self-motivation, accuracy, and the ability to excel in fast-paced environments.

Current Louisiana licensure as Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required. 1–3 years of Med tech experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Must have Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• 1-3 years Med tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens.
• Correlates and interprets data based on knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments.
• Investigates problems, performs corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment, prepares reagents, instructs students and new employees, and performs data entry and interpretation of test results.
• Communicates effectively with physicians, nursing staff, co-workers and other organizational staff.
• Observes and follows established departmental environment of care and safety protocols and practices.
