Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in electronics/biomedical technology or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license issued in the employee's state of residence required.
• Continued employment contingent on successful completion of Fresenius Biomedical Technician training within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems.
• Maintains the physical plant as directed.
• Ensures outside vendor services are completed per contract.
• Purchases and maintains an inventory of service parts.
• Performs and reports water/dialysate sample collection and actions.
• Conducts trend analysis on the water system to ensure proper operation.
• Documents all repairs and maintenance activities.
• Assists in planning and installing biomedical equipment for safe operation.
• Transports equipment as needed with supervisor consent.
• Participates in monthly technical and regulatory meetings.
• Collaborates with facility staff to meet regulatory and OSHA requirements.
• Manages inventory including receiving, stocking, and transporting items; assists with inventory costs.
• Performs initial and annual verification and ongoing monitoring of patient care staff’s testing on water systems.
• Completes all required training programs per state/federal regulations and company policy.
• Provides scheduled after-hours on-call coverage for clinics as needed.
