Job Description Summary

Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment. Drives customer satisfaction through service excellence.

Responsibilities

1. Under supervision, evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and as assigned, perform PM and safety/environmental inspections.
2. Assist more experienced technicians on basic and complex repairs/resolution.
3. Communicate effectively with teammates and colleagues.
4. Follow GE policies, hospital protocols, and complete necessary documentation.
5. Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
6. Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals.
7. Work as a team to provide efficient service within the assigned area.
8. Share on-call responsibilities when trained.
9. Document all repair actions and submit reports on schedule.
10. Care for spares, tools, and test equipment, ensuring calibration.
11. Update technical knowledge through formal instruction.
12. Utilize resources (manuals, tech support, online) for assistance.
13. Meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field, or equivalent military education, or participation in GEHC internship or externship, or High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of relevant experience.
2. Strong analytical and communication skills.
3. Must pass background checks and comply with immunization and drug testing policies.

Physical Requirements

1. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs.; ability to bend, stoop, climb, crouch, kneel, sit, and stand for long periods.
2. Reach at, above, and below shoulder level; good hand and finger dexterity.
3. Visual abilities include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
4. Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and on-call as needed.
