Job summary

University Health System is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain, service, calibrate, adjust, repair, and test general and specialized medical equipment across patient care and support areas. You will document complex repairs, ensure compliance with The Joint Commission standards, and collaborate with clinicians, management, and outside vendors.

An associate degree is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 2–4 years of related experience and CRES certification

Qualifications

• Associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or related field is required.
• Bachelor degree in related field preferred.
• Two years of related experience in a full service biomedical section/department or company is required; Four years of related experience is preferred.
• ICC Certification for radiology equipment (CRES) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, calibrate, adjust, repair, and test medical equipment.
• Document complex repairs and calibration services.
• Interact with clinical staff, management, nurses, physicians, and outside vendors.
• Comply with The Joint Commission standards and related regulations.
