Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician I for Marlborough, MA, on the night shift (Mon-Fri 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with rotational weekends. Pay range: $27.89 - $30.53 per hour, with potential shift differentials and annual bonus eligibility.

The role covers repair, maintenance, installation and testing of laboratory equipment, plus training staff. Requires a high school diploma and strong communication skills.

Job Description
Biomedical Equipment Technician I - Marlborough, MA (Night Shift) Monday - Friday 11:00PM - 7:00AM, with rotational weekends

Pay range: $27.89 - $30.53 / hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment and documentation of equipment service activities. Also responsible for the installation and testing of new equipment. Trains lab personnel on the proper use of instruments.

  • Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintains documentation of service performed in accordance with requirements outlined by licensing and accreditation agencies.
  • Maintains a physical inventory of key equipment repair parts.
  • Assists in preparing the location for new equipment, insuring that all necessary requirements for proper operation have been met, (e.g. water, cooling, electrical needs).
  • Installs and tests new equipment to insure proper working condition.
  • Assists in instructing laboratory personnel on the proper use of instruments.
  • Assists in maintaining calibration equipment used on laboratory equipment.
  • Assists in coordinating outside service requirements to insure timely repairs.
  • Assists in monitoring work performed by outside service organizations.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and at times assist the Biomedical Engineers in moving equipment.

  • Requires a logical thought process, accountability, physical dexterity, and the ability to clearly/effectively communicate with team members and lab personnel outside the department.
