Job summary

Intelas, a Compass healthcare company, is seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician to service patient care equipment in hospital settings and support field operations nationwide. You will perform maintenance, calibrations, and safety inspections while coordinating with clinical staff.

Ideal candidates have an associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology and at least 3 years of hospital experience, with a valid driver’s license for travel.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or equivalent experience.
• 3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
• Valid driver’s license for field service roles requiring travel.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care equipment.
• Manages assigned equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated within established intervals.
• Responds to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify issues.
• Researches and initiates orders for repair parts within budget.
• Maintains purchase order logs and validates invoices for payment.
• Provides informal training to equipment users and staff.
• Makes recommendations on service strategies to the Department Manager.
• Participates in Quality Improvement / Risk Management programs.
• Maintains an orderly and functional work environment.
• Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Documents asset actions per department practices.
• Collaborates with technical personnel in department meetings.
