Qualifications

  • Requires an associate’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering.
  • Minimum two years of biomedical equipment technician experience with electronic diagnostics and system configuration management.
  • Experience applying electronics to diagnose failures and perform component-level troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications of electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD/DoW, Joint Commission, OSHA and FDA standards as they apply to biomedical equipment.
  • Experience with test and measuring equipment, signal tracing, and inter-system logic analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and related tools for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs in compliance with OSHA, DoD, and MTF safety regulations.
  • Test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair medical equipment per OEM specs.
  • Keep maintenance records within DMLSS or leadership-defined systems.
  • Evaluate conditions of equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements.
  • Provide operator training and ensure proper PPE usage and LOTO procedures.
  • Operate government vehicle as required for service calls; maintain safety checks.

Bestica is hiring a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide their services at Wright Patterson Air Force Base located in Dayton, OH.Description of Services: 711th Human Performance Wing Commander’s Support Staff (711 HPW/CSS) Medical Readiness is responsible for the management and oversight of the 711 HPW War Reserve Material (WRM) Projects based on AFI 41 series and line logistics based on AFI 21 series instructions. The medical programs include oversight of the procurement of medical supplies and equipment, maintenance of medical equipment, and procurement and control/accountability of all medical equipment as well as responsibility for the medical Technical Order Distribution Office (TODO). The line programs include tool control and accountability, non-medical support equipment, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD). This requirement is in support of 711 HPW/CSS Medical Readiness.Benefits:10 Days PTO11 Federal HolidaysAmazing work environmentSchedule: Monday to FridayLocation: Wright Patterson AFB, OHThe employee shall possess, at minimum, an associate’s degree in biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering.The employee shall possess at least two years of biomedical equipment technician experience, including demonstrated experience in all tasks in PWS 1.2. This experience shall include the application of electronic principles to diagnose functional operation failures, component- level troubleshooting, and system configuration management.The employee shall possess demonstrated experience in applying a wide range of specialized methods, principles, and techniques of electronics and complex medical system failures, recovery of systems, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to include hardware and software components.The employee shall possess demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with including, but not limited to, the DoD/DoW, The Joint Commission, AAAHC, CAP, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and FDA regulations, procedures, and practices as it applies to biomedical equipment.The employee shall possess demonstrated experience in the interpretation of technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems; in analyzing problems in integrated/interfacing systems involving numerous complex circuits; and in using complex electronic and electromechanical test and measuring equipment using integrated test functions for different purposes.The employee shall possess demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving technical and performance issues for highly complex electronic systems.The employee shall possess demonstrated experience in signal tracing and inter-system logic analysis across integrated electronic platforms.The employee shall possess demonstrated proficiency in professional oral and written communication including interpersonal skills necessary to represent the organization professionally and maintain collaborative working relationships.The employee shall possess a valid U.S. driver’s license to obtain authorization to operate a Government vehicle to service medical equipment in other buildings.The shall provide steel/composite toed boots, ensuring they meet or exceed ANSI/ISEA standards.The employee shall possess the physical stamina and strength required to handle items up to 51 pounds frequently and heavier loads occasionally, ensuring all movement of equipment adheres to NIOSH lifting equations and safety standards.The employee shall have the ability to pass a color vision test.The employee shall possess demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Cloud based suite of productivity apps, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat programs.The employee shall possess knowledge and understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards.The employee shall have a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance.Highly Desired Qualifications:One year of military medical/military deployment experience.Experience with the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS).Tasks - The employee shall:Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are performed in compliance with OSHA, DoD, and MTF safety regulations.Test and calibrate components using manufacturers' manuals and troubleshooting techniques, hand tools, power tools and measuring devices.Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipment as defined by DAFI, within the Defense medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system, or as designated by leadership.Assess and evaluate the condition of in-use medical equipment for maintenance, upgrade, or replace recommendations.Inspect and test malfunctioning medical and related equipment following manufacturers' specifications, using test and analysis instruments.Disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair, and replace defective parts such as motors, transformers, and circuit boards.Perform preventive maintenance or service such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting medical and simulation equipment in accordance with OEM specifications.Test, evaluate, and classify excess or in-use medical and simulation equipment and determine serviceability, condition, and disposition in accordance with regulations.Study technical manuals and attend training sessions provided by equipment manufacturers to maintain current knowledge and technical proficiency.Provide training to medical staff by explaining and demonstrating correct operation and operator preventive maintenance of medical equipment.Safely operate a government vehicle when required to service medical equipment in other buildings.Maintain and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all maintenance activities involving electrical or mechanical hazards, ensuring they meet or exceed ANSI/ISEA standards.Conduct a pre-work safety assessment of the repair environment and mitigate any hazards (e.g., clearing debris, ensuring ventilation) prior to beginning maintenance.Execute Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and utilize specialized electrical safety tools when performing repairs on live or high-voltage circuits.We at Bestica believe our success is a direct result of hard work and outstanding employee dedication.
