The University of Rochester seeks a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to service low to high-risk medical devices in hospital and offsite locations. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of electronic and electromechanical equipment in patient-care settings, collaborating with Clinical Engineering colleagues.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED with 1 year hospital experience; an Associate's degree is preferred.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED and 1 year of hospital-related experience.
• Associate's degree in Electronic or Instrumentation Technology preferred.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilidades

• Performs safety/preventive maintenance inspections and services electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment to determine operational status and compliance with manufacturers and industry standards.
• Installs, maintains, and calibrates electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
• Troubleshoots, isolates equipment malfunctions and repairs electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment.
• Responds to operator complaints about equipment malfunctions, often involving correcting operator errors.
• Performs equipment modifications when instructions, diagrams, prints, or schematics are provided for technical guidance.
• Maintains electronic medical equipment management database files for compliance with departmental and accreditation requirements.
• Completes on-call responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned.
