Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an HTM Technician to manage biomedical, laboratory, research, imaging equipment and related patient care systems. The role emphasizes technical accuracy, safety, and strong customer communication. On‑call duties and occasional travel to Mayo sites or vendors are expected.

Experience with maintenance planning, installation, calibration, and repair is essential, with the goal of ensuring reliable, high‑quality patient care across Mayo Clinic campuses.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in biomedical electronics, mechatronics, engineering or related field.
• Military training in relevant engineering disciplines is acceptable.
• Lab/medical equipment maintenance experience is valued for laboratory roles.
• Familiarity with safety practices around hazardous materials and QA tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical, clinical equipment and systems per Mayo Clinic plan.
• Demonstrate technical and mechanical skills for planning, installation, and repair.
• Prioritize service calls and adhere to Mayo policy and procedures.
• Respond to emergent calls quickly; on‑call and overtime may be required.
• Travel to Mayo Clinic sites and vendor training as needed.

Education

Associate’s degree in Biomedical Electronics/Healthcare Technology Management, Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering

U.S. Military training in biomedical electronics, mechatronics, or engineering

High School Diploma or technical certificate with 3 years related experience

For lab positions: medical/clinical laboratory science degree or related field
