Job summary

Capital i is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician - Information Systems at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center to install, configure, and maintain networked medical devices and information systems. You will work with hospital IT and clinical engineering teams to ensure secure, interoperable systems and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3+ years in healthcare equipment maintenance with 1+ year in medical IT support, strong networking, and HL7/DICOM familiarity.

Qualifications

> Associate degree or higher in Biomedical Technology or related field; OR DoD BMET training; OR DoD electronics/IT training with experience; OR HTM certificate program.
> Certifications: CBET, CRES, CLES, or CHTM.
> Minimum 3 years hospital/healthcare experience with medical equipment maintenance and at least 1 year in supporting medical information systems.
> Experience with medical information systems, device connectivity, and networking in healthcare environments.
> Familiar with HL7 and DICOM; cybersecurity principles in healthcare tech.
> Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer-based medical equipment and networked medical systems.
Support and manage medical information systems, databases, and enterprise networked devices.
Monitor patches, upgrades, and cybersecurity measures for compliant operations.
Configure VLANs, IP addressing, and network settings for medical devices.
Troubleshoot device network communication and distinguish networking issues.
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, FDA, ISO, VA standards.
Maintain network test equipment and diagnose performance issues.
Perform routine verification, maintenance, and repairs on server-based systems.
Provide training and support to BMETs, clinicians, and IT staff.
Coordinate between Biomedical Engineering, IT, clinical depts, and vendors for interoperability and security.
Document network configurations, security settings, and troubleshooting.
Contribute to procurement and planning to ensure connectivity and security of new equipment.
Conduct risk assessments and implement cybersecurity controls.
