Job summary

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Record of teaching, service, and scholarship commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with tenure.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership or administrative experience in higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for undergraduate and graduate programs in Biomedical Engineering, emphasizing innovation-based learning.
  • Foster a student-centered environment with hands-on learning, inclusion, and experiential education, including capstone design projects and labs.
  • Mentor faculty in teaching effectiveness, curriculum design and professional development.
  • Strengthen interdisciplinary and industry partnerships to expand real-world learning opportunities and internships.
  • Manage departmental operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, and personnel supervision.
  • Support scholarly and applied research integrating learning with real-world problem solving.
  • Represent the department in college and university committees and accreditation activities.
