Job summary

Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking a Data Scientist to advance the Center of Excellence on Digital Health Innovation. The role focuses on rigorous analyses, data strategy, and AI-enabled methods to improve clinical research, care delivery, and patient outcomes.

You will work with investigators, clinicians, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, informaticians, engineers, and more to ensure analytic approaches are scientifically valid and clinically relevant.

Qualifications

• Doctoral-level training or equivalent in a quantitative field such as biomedical informatics, data science, biostatistics, epidemiology, statistics, CS, applied math, engineering, public health.
• Strong independence with substantial contributions to biomedical or health research and ability to communicate complex findings.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL; experience analyzing real-world biomedical data.
• Experience designing analyses, data strategy, and reproducible research workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to quantitative analyses for biomedical and clinical research projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define questions, analytic strategies, and study designs.
• Evaluate data sources for suitability, completeness, and limitations before analysis.
• Prepare, clean, harmonize, and integrate diverse biomedical data sources.
• Develop and validate statistical, predictive, and machine-learning methods.
• Communicate results to scientific and clinical audiences and prepare manuscripts and reports.
